My Fault

aha moment jae m rang Jun 03, 2024

Don’t you think it’s about time the average individual made an above average income?

So do I….and mostly because I don’t believe anyone amongst us is average!  We just act average.

What I mean by “act average” is that we are conditioned to be average and we simply act out that programming.

The systems that held us in place began to temper our enthusiasm and curiosity for life during early social settings and especially once we attended kindergarten.  We sat where we were told, had to put our hand up to ask a question, were forbidden to move about in an inspired way, shushed if we spoke out, sent for reprimand if we questioned authority and were rewarded for behaving quietly and accurately regurgitating what we were being fed.  We weren’t encouraged to learn curriculum that followed nature – self-love, connecting to nature, individual expression – or any life skills like gardening, building or entrepreneurship.  Public schools have replaced cursive writing with teaching “coding” in primary school.  Think about it; we’re being programmed to program so we can be fully trapped in operating in nothing but programs.

Yes, of course, we need to be taught respect and focus and a quiet classroom is certainly the place where effective instruction can take place, but the system is imbalanced and skewed towards raising employees vs. independents.  It’s no wonder we can’t achieve past average, we haven’t been taught how.

What if we were taught to wake up with the sun, to find nature before we tended to technology, to break during the day in quiet meditation and connection, to honor ourselves – the most advanced technology on the planet - to explore our curiosity and to unapologetically follow our unique purpose?  What level of responsibility would that take to face life head-on and in all circumstances look to ourself for guidance first?

Aha! ~ An empowering question is this: How is this my fault?

The question is not about blame but about responsibility.  Overachieving begins when we break from the box and see ourselves as co-creators of our thoughts, beliefs, action and results.

Many of my mentors over the years have suggested that each of us should aspire to earn a million dollars because it makes you think differently not to mention the freedom that comes with abundance.

When I’ve fallen short of my financial worthiness, I can easily blame others, circumstances or my conditioning; but, when I ask myself, “How is this my fault?”, I make a pledge to invest my time differently, get more routine about what I need to learn and from whom, carve out regular reflection and connection time, look for new ways to serve on purpose, and definitely level up on self-care.

Keep being more.
